Getting started is as easy as 1-2-3!

So you know that PLANET Day of Service is on April 22, 2009. And you've heard about all the great benefits of participating: raising awareness of the lawn care and landscape professions, fostering teamwork among your colleagues, demonstrating goodwill and environmental stewardship, and impacting the quality of life in your community. But now you're wondering, "How do I get started?"

Follow these steps to get your project off the ground:

1. Create a user profile and register your project.
2. Keep it simple. Projects can be any shape or size. Don't get overwhelmed trying to organize a huge event.  Even small projects involving only a few people are part of this much larger national movement, giving your company local recognition on a national level. You can build on small events in the coming years as you gain momentum and recognition in your community.
3. Promote your event by preparing the media. Our online toolkit outlines all the steps you should take to alert the media. Customize your media advisory and send it out one week prior to the event (April 15). This is how the media will find out about and plan to cover your event on April 22.
